2009 > Display - Cast Gloves

I began casting the gloves of my late grandmother, as an attempt to commemorate or solidify the empty space she left behind. The process of creating these new casts destroys the original glove, so the souvenir object is all that is left. The resulting object is an inadequate portrait, but the deformed ‘hand’ is representative of the misguided process of attempting to preserve memory.
